FIVE YEARS IN THE FIELD. ONE NAME. ZERO SURRENDER. Rufus T. Bulldog wasn't approved overnight. It took five long years of persistent 'no's' and unwavering determination before the tide turned. A lawyer finally instructed to build something real and showcase to the world the existence of Rufus T. Bulldog. So we took action; this site went live, and soon after, the necessary paperwork was submitted. After five years of dedication, the name that refused to fade into obscurity was officially approved for character licensing.

Rufus T. started from a simple tee shirt idea — one design, one dog, and one shirt. To protect my intellectual property, I filed a trademark application and transformed the concept into a short story titled "Meet Rufus T. Bulldog." However, I mistakenly selected Licensing and Cartooning instead of the Tee shirt Print class. This misstep marked the beginning of an incredible five-year journey toward official registration. Along the way, Rufus T. brought some friends into the fold, leading to the creation of the Blazing Bulldogs universe.

That initial mistake forced me to broaden my vision. I encourage you to view mistakes not as setbacks but as opportunities that can lead to unexpected paths. Rufus T. has evolved into more than just a character; he feels like my child. Each character I create holds a personal connection to me, such as naming the lead female protagonist after my mother, Betty Bulldog. It has certainly been a journey, and I invite you to join me along for the ride.

Rufus T. didn’t earn his name by merely asking for it; he secured it through resilience and outlasting the answer.
